The Step-by-Step of Dental Implants in Flushing

If it is an emergency case and you are not able to schedule surgery ahead of time, we can try to get you a temporary crown within a few days or a week. 
  3. Implant Placement—Once we’re ready, we’ll place the titanium implant into your jawbone. This step requires a small incision in the gum, but don’t worry—we use local anesthesia or IV sedation to ensure your comfort.
  4. Healing and Osseointegration — After the implant is placed, if you elect to have a temporary crown we will either call you to schedule you to come in and have it placed or we will coordinate with your general dentist to have it placed at their office. Over the next 3 months your bone will begin to grow around the implant in a process called osseointegration. This ensures the implant becomes firmly anchored in your jawbone.
  5. Follow-Up Care—We’ll monitor your healing process closely and schedule a 3 month follow up to check how well the implant integrated and talk to you and your general dentist about getting a final crown. Our team will also provide tips on how to care for your new implant so it lasts for years.
